I can't remember the last time at ran at Pineland. I'm pretty sure if I ran over 8 miles there, my IT band was hurting. So I was anxious to see how I would fare today running 10. I was hoping all the field/trail running I've been doing would have helped condition me to handle whatever it is about Pineland that my left side doesn't like.
I didn't leave enough time to get there for the TM group run. I left a note on Jim's car so they might be on the lookout for me. Even though I was teasing, I really did expect to hear Jim out there somewhere! The conditions were better than I expected after all the rain. There was only one field that had lots of fairly fresh manure. I was very happy that I stuck some gloves in with my gear at the last minute. It was pretty cool out there.
Drum roll....My left IT band was perfectly fine with the run!!! Maybe it won't be an issue this year. Then I won't have an excuse not to get close to my 10 hour goal - Yikes!
Hurray for no IT pain! :-)
ReplyDeleteLet's here it for IT only being used to mean Information Technology or English third person singular neutral gendered pronoun.
