Home Run

I was a little bummed about running at home.  I just couldn't justify not.  Once I got out there, I felt pretty guilty about thinking I was settling.  I get to run in very pretty fields with lots of critters to appreciate.

the male bobolinks bailed while the moms stayed on the nests right by my path

pretty purple seeds on some grass type

the fields are beautiful with ordinary flowers

the little bit of woods on the way to the beaver pond

Buddy, a neighbor, walking with his person
At my little brook crossing, almost dried up with the lack of real rain, I stopped to catch a big polliwog.  I thought I could take its picture, but it required two hands to hold it for just seconds.

I can say I enjoyed my run through the fields.  Bringing the camera helps; it makes me see around me and not just my foot placement.  The fields, in a lot of ways, are much more draining than dirt trails, but they are beautiful and right out my door.  Five miles just two ticks.

  3. Thanks, Danielle. I love the bobolinks, too.

It is pretty sweet to have the fields mowed. The neighbor that owns the hill across the street mows it for he and his wife to walk their dog. Linda's son mows a good track in her fields. The farmer in the next field should be haying soon, about doubling my runnable miles.
