Back to Back

Another run on home turf.  Today's run was a lot faster since I wasn't taking pictures.  It was also slightly wetter, with a mist coming down the whole time.  I was going to repeat the same course, but right in the middle of the mowed path across the street was an injured woodchuck.  Injured or sick.  Whichever, he didn't move at all.  I yelled, clapped my hands, and approached him stomping my feet.  I had to look closely to see that he was indeed breathing.  I had broken my rule of non-interference with wild life yesterday when I tried to nurse chipmonk back to health after the neighbor's cat mauled it.  The little fellow hung on till this morning.

I stood there just watching the woodchuck for a while considering my options.  Finally, I turned around and ran the other way.  Then, back home watching TV, a bird flew into our window.  At least it flew off just a bit stunned.  Yikes!
