After Pineland yesterday, I was looking to rebound. I need to start picking up the pace a bit on my runs since my next focus is the Bradbury Series. I find the Scuffle to be hard since it's the first time I try to run fast after training to run just far. The stitch yesterday reminded me of my last few Scuffles. So, I went to Bradbury to run the Scuffle at a not race pace, but not a relaxed pace either.
Though the weather was a little more cooperative (sun and temperature not much of an issue), the humidity was still pretty horrible. I think the dew point was just one degree below the temperature when I started, resulting in almost immediate sweating. The run was still great. I pushed till I could feel a stitch threatening. Once it backed down, I'd pick up the pace again. Around 3 1/2 miles in, I'd find myself drifting off into thought and my pace would drop back to normal. I'd have to make myself remember that I was supposed to be running harder.
My time wasn't great, but, it was a start and I enjoyed myself.
