Great Day at Bradbury

Rick and I headed to Bradbury on Sunday. It was still in the mid-twenties at the start of our run. We had decided on seven miles. Since I ran Bradbury 4 times per week nearly all Spring and Summer, I had a good idea of what to run to get seven. We headed out the Bruiser, but skipped the Island and Bat Cave trails. Then when we got back to the Link headed back on it instead of continuing on. Perfect! Crossing the road to back to parking, the Garmin turned 7 miles.

Besides enjoying an idyllic late Fall day, we were rewarded with two big does bounding across our path not long after we turned onto Lanzo. They were going pretty fast, probably jumpy from deer season (Yay! Maybe not as much as the deer, but glad that's done with).

The going was mostly fine, but had to be on the look out for ice-covered rocks. I did do one scary root-skiing near fall, but stayed upright. Gotta get the screws into my shoes. Gorham trails could be a bit treacherous without them.

  1. I put screws in my shoes on Sunday. I definitely needed them. We got about an inch of snow and ice here in Rumford last Friday and the trails were pretty slippery.

  2. I'm impressed. I've meant to screw my shoes for nearly a week now and still haven't.
