Tweaking the Fat Ass

Very nearly got the Fat Ass course down. Looks like we just need to cut a teeny piece off to get the mileage to 5.17 so that 6 laps makes 50K. I wish I could save the conditions of today for Saturday; it was very close to ideal. Linda and Beth also ran the course today. Linda reports it's way easier running compared to the bare fields last year. I can see there's probably 3/4 to a mile that could become the post-holing hell area, but, we'll see what happens with the weather. Trail Monsters can take it any way!

Tomorrow we'll tweak the mileage. Then, when it warms way up, go back out on snowshoes to pack the potential problem area a bit more. Here's what it looks like and the elevation profile:

  2. Can't wait!! Thanks for all your hard work in making the course...don't worry, the Trail Monsters can handle any condition :) and it makes for great war stories (like the time everyone got scraped up post-holing through ice a few years ago).
