I knew I had to get out early to enjoy the extremely runnable condition of the snowmobile trails that I enjoyed yesterday; the coming snow would make snowshoes required. That is fine, but I definitely like just running the best.
Trying to optimize the run, I waited as long as I could to give the temperature some time to climb. At 9:45 (excuse me...I had a big Spot-break. She's not as flexible as she used to be (I sympathize!) and got stuck between the coffee table and the couch. Then she needed (or I needed to provide) lots of attention and petting), it was up to 14 degrees. Good enough. The trails were as good as yesterday, if not better. I think I smiled for the first few miles, just enjoying the experience.
Adding to the joy of the run, my hawk pair that I haven't seen in a while screamed at me several times. I wanted to yell back, but I held my tongue. I did yell at the turkey that about scared the sh*t right out of me.
The snow started when I was about three miles in. A mile later, it was snowing in earnest. That's alright; the trails stayed good and I do love snow.
