There is another reason I'll try to get out early for a run - in hopes that the colder temperatures of the night will leave enough crust on the snowmobile tracks that I'll be able to stay on top and get some traction. The was the plan yesterday. I'm not sure if I got out too late or there never was the crust. At any rate, by 11:30 am, conditions were less than ideal. I worked very hard to cover five miles in 55:19. I was happy that I was able to do nearly even splits.
I find that running on snow is not something I will be very speedy at so I don't get too worked up about pace.
ReplyDeleteLast night I did 5+ miles on 2 inches of fresh cold snow over pavement. It was ideal; it allowed traction, bounce, and cushioning. It was 6 degrees which I find easier to dress for than 45. Hope you're conditions improve soon for you.
