thIRSday Night Run

I couldn't believe I was putting on shorts for a 9 pm run in early March, but the temperature was still at 51 degrees.  When Unstrung came in, I don't think she expected to see me in shorts.  She decided she needed to remove at least one layer.  We were both sort of thinking the conditions were going to be horrendous.  Instead, they were just incredibly variable.  To paraphrase Xar, there was no rhythm to the run.

I still haven't taken screws out of my shoes.  It was a good thing.  I think Xar realized she could have used more traction less than a mile from the start.  I couldn't believe how much ice we'd encounter.  So, ice, ice water crossings, a VERY nearby skunk, wind, moths, post-holing in ground, our strength-training stretch of relatively deep snow, wind, laughter, typical meeting stuff.  I was amazed at one of the bridges; the water was almost up to the surface.  Another place, I wanted to point out where the mink lives, but he was flooded.

We covered eight miles.

  2. I thought I commented on this but maybe I didn't survive the robot test. Oops. It was basically a "YEEHAW! Survived another one!" type of thing. :>

    1. I'm ready to un-test the comments. I take a lot of tries to prove I'm not a robot. Besides, who's to say robots wouldn't make interesting comments!
