Originally, I was gonna title this post "A Dickens of a Run". As I ran, I thought of "A Running Carol" and "A Tale of Two Runs". I was visited by the ghost of Winter Running Past, the ghost of Slushy Present, and the ghost of Muddy Future. I started out in the daylight. Even though it was still in the 40s (I started out at 4:30), wherever the woods kept the sun from shining on the trail, there was still deep snow. Mostly, I ran through slushy, slippery snow that made sense for the day, but there were a couple of spots of pure, deep mud, hints of what's to come. Later, it came to me that it was the daylight run, it was the night time run. By the time I finished, footing became an issue just due to lack of light. I was happy to get in 8.7 miles.
"Where The Mink Lives" - good name for a band.

DeleteAwesome moon pics! I have a feeling we may encounter those same ghosts tonight too. There so needs to be something in Bogger about them.
