Ran when I got home from work. The temperature was still 78 degrees. I felt it as I ran. I intended to cover the same ground as the day before's IRS run, but, just as I crested the small hill on the Davis farm (heading down to the little stream crossing), I stopped; there were SO many turkeys. I had to count them. Holy shit! 49 birds. I'm very confident in this number. They weren't moving much and I only counted ones I was certain of, none that looked like they might be behind another. Very cool, but they made me want to go in a different direction; I didn't want to disturb them and I could just picture the, um, droppings that many turkeys would have deposited. So that portion of the IRS schedule wasn't followed. Got in almost five.
Friday, I ran with Rick after work. Neither of us really wanted to, but thought the other did :) So we got out there. Nice. Same fields but discovered some paths that look like our across the street neighbor maybe working on.
" Neither of us really wanted to, but thought the other did :) So we got out there." <--- expert use of mirage-based motivation :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read about the insanely badass 24+10 you did last weekend. Seriously amazing.
Them's a lot of birds! Good thing you weren't inspired to name your blog 49 Turkeys, I like perpetual motion better :)
ReplyDeletep.s. Excellent Friday run - those are the good ones.
Awesome. That is when it is a nice thing about having a runner husband! You can almost always drag each other out the door :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd wow! 49 turkeys. That has got to be some record....
I'm hungry just thinking about that number of birds!
ReplyDeleteSeriously great running lately Val, real consistent!
