Catch-up Before Stone Cat Report

Okay, so I'm still adjusting to the job and getting stuff done here.  I'll quickly review the runs I left off before doing my Stone Cat Marathon race report.

Saturday, October 29th:  I got in six miles in the fields.  Well, I stuck just to the moto-cross track and the neighbors hill across the street (he's not allowing hunting this year) and dressed in bright orange.  I pushed the pace a little because I wanted to have showered before Rick got home from work (some problems there had him working the weekend) so we could make it to Mindy's party at a decent hour (it was a great party!).

Sunday, October 30th:  Not only was I disappointed that the snow storm wrecked meeting up with Danielle and Mindy for a Bradbury run, I was sitting alone in the cold with no power.  Well, I wasn't totally alone; Spot was making sure I knew she was happy to have me home.  I was all wrapped up in blankets on the couch, a little more than a little pouty, when I got a text from Mindy.  We decided to meet at Bradbury after all!!!  Some how (probably my lack of texting skills) we got our signals crossed.  I came dressed for the trails and Mindy for the roads.  Being the TM she is, we started out on the trails anyway.  I could tell that it was going to be no fun for her with shorts and road shoes on the 8 inches of cold slush and mud.  We settled on running the animal loop.  We weren't disappointed at all.  In fact, besides all our catching up, we were rewarded with lots of animals.  I felt so much better for having run.  Unfortunately, I had to shower at work the next day because we didn't get our power back till mid-day Monday.

Tues, Wed, Thur (Nov 1,2, and 3rd):  I ran with the headlamp in the fields after work.  I got in 4, 4, and 3.2 miles respectively. Nothing really special, but I felt better for having gotten in more runs during the week.

Friday, November 4th:  I left work just before 5pm to meet up with Rick to head down to Danvers.  We were meeting up with a good group of TMs to have our pre-race dinner.
