I had the opportunity to grab a piece of George's run today. He was running at Bradbury starting at 7 till about 1pm. He said he'd be back in the parking lot whenever I wanted to show up, which was 8:30. Linda rode over me to run Mindy's loop.
George was waiting in the lot when we pulled in. He'd never run the Brad/Pineland connector, so he and I set out on it. It was the first time this year that the Brad was truly wet. I was extremely careful on wet rocks on down hills. George and I easily filled the run with conversation while enjoying the run. This was the first time that it was necessary to get wet on the river crossing, but it felt wonderful. Even though it was cold starting out, it was so humid that I was hot by the time we'd gotten to the water.
On the way back, I led us on a slight detour. Some side trail has been made more prominent since the last time I'd run there. Because of it, I made us retrace our tracks down to the road to regain my bearings...well, got us an extra turn at the long hill up from the road!
We were just coming back in view of the parking lot when Linda came running toward us. She was trying to get her Garmin to an even number. Good timing. George stopped back at his car to refuel and visit for a bit before heading back out on his run.
I love running!
You are officially the BradPineland connector Ambassador. I think that means you can get special license plates and free parking tickets, but I'm not sure. Sounds like a great day!
