My days running the Brad at will are numbered, single digitily. So I headed there for another eight miles. This time I didn't run Mindy's loop, but kind of just pieced chunks of trails together as the spirit moved me. I started out like I was doing the Scuffle, but, when I got to the Snowmobile Trail, switched over to running the Bruiser backward. Instead of doing just that little bit of trail before crossing over to Fox West, I added the loop that branches off. Like many loops off trails, it came back to the trail almost where it broke off. I crossed over to Fox West with every intention of staying with a backward Bruiser, but switched over to Fox East when the trail sharply turns. I stuck with the Scuffle course till I got to the boundary where the race would head back down the Snowmobile Trail. I just ran straight across to Ginn West, again on a backward Bruiser part. Instead of heading onto Ragan, I stayed on Ginn West till it was like I was running the end part of the Bruiser frontward. I added a teeny bit on the mountain side to make it essentially (fought the urge to put exactly) eight.
As I was headed out on the mountain side, I saw two runners headed in. I yelled hey to NJ Dave and his friend. We stopped to chat for a minute, but then headed our own ways. The air was better than yesterday. It was a great little run. I felt like I could have ran another hour or two, but had stuff to get done.
Oh, and I saw a white tail bound away from me on the Bat Cave loop : )
Yay, your blog started appearing in my blog feed again! Not sure when you start your job, but I'll be up in Lewiston a week from tomorrow (Friday) for our annual conference. If you're free and want to join me for a run at Thorncrag again afterwards, lemme know!
ReplyDeleteI think that might be my last day available. I'd love to do a 3rd annual with you! Might just have to play it by ear, though.
ReplyDeleteSounds good. I'll touch base with you next week.
