Linda and I knew we were going to run today; the question was where. By the time we were ready to run, Thorncrag seemed to be the best choice, mainly because it's right behind Hannaford. I needed bacon. Rick grew the perfect tomato that required being consumed as part of a BLT.
The plan was for an easy run with some more reconnaissance for a possible loop for a TM event. I think for it to be an easy run at Thorncrag, I'd have to walk. Still, I always enjoy it. The scenery is beautiful with its six different wildlife habitats. The coniferous, old-growth forest section always feels cool. I love it when the huge tree trunks are dark and damp.
Linda and I went off on our own runs with an hour and ten minute time limit. Fortunately for me, we kept crossing paths; my Garmin hasn't been holding a charge for the past couple runs and died just 32 minutes in. I hope it has one of its spontaneous self-repairs.
From my lack of energy, I'd say I'm not quite fully recovered from the 34 miles on Saturday. At least all the parts felt good.
Nice run and no doubt the tired legs will rebound. And hey, annual conference in Lewiston is in about a month, I'll keep you posted. Would love to run at Thorncrag again afterwards!
ReplyDeleteJamie, I'd love to do our 3rd annual post-conference run at Thorncrag! Just keep me posted : )
ReplyDeleteOh man, now I want a BLT.
ReplyDeleteJeremy! Even better was the Corn and Bacon Soup I made the next day (based on a soup I had at E&L's).
