A Confession

I ran the road today and liked it. I did. I liked it. I had to argue myself into it. My knee and ankle, while OK to run on, really could use a break from the constant twists of the lumpy fields. The patches of ice have me running too cautiously; I wanted to run, not pussy foot. Tomorrow the roads might be more dangerous with the snow storm (I was almost hit by a skidding truck in the past). So the road won out.

I think it was the fact that I could run at a good pace that made it fun. There were even a few tenths under 8 min/mile! And, since I was pressed for time, this was a good way to still get in six miles.

  1. Nice one, Valerie! Although I don't always like the roads, there is something nice about being able to run quickly on an even surface, isn't there?! :-)
