Catching Up

So.  As much as I want to just keep reliving everything about Peaks, life goes on.  In fact, life has been pretty busy.  I haven't gotten in as many miles as I'd like, but I have been running.  Lets see if I can get up to date.

So, I ran twice on a treadmill in Dallas.  I think it was the Wed and Thurs after Peaks.  It was so weird; I needed to put the treadmill on a 2.5% slope before I felt like I wasn't running down hill.  I stuck to under 4 miles, mostly cause it was super boring and I had very little time.

I got back home around 12:30 am Friday night/Saturday morning.  Still, I made it to the Brad mostly on time for the FatAss-style run associated with Erin's shower.  Mindy, David, and I ran one of the 7-mile loops talking about Peaks the entire time.  No one was sore, but there was a general tiredness.

Sunday, I headed back to Brad looking forward to running with Unstrung who was gonna join up about a half hour later.  Unfortunately, I got to Brad only to realize my shoes were home.  I headed back.  Instead of taking up another 50 minutes just in commuting time, I went to Thorncrag.  This way, I could go to Hannaford immediately after; our house was low on everything.

Well, I laughed at what used to seem like long, steep hills.  I didn't laugh when I realized I still had some soreness when running down the steeper hills.  Ugh!  Still, I got in about 6 miles and planned out the course for the next, "Till We Meet in Hell" race.

I didn't run again till the Thurs night IRS meeting.  Life kept getting in the way.  Damn it :(  Saturday, I had hoped to get to Pineland to cheer and help out where needed.  Instead I only had time for a run or heading to Pineland. Rick and I ended up at the Brad.  We almost reran the course from Erin's shower, but tacked on two small loops, getting in just over 7.6 miles.  Sunday, we headed to Pineland hoping to cheer the 50 milers at the start before heading to Providence for Nori's graduation.  Well, we got there late (pretty sure I'd forgotten something).  We missed sending the runners off, but got in a short, but nice, visit with Snowman before getting on the road.

Well, at least I'm on the current week.  Monday, Rick and I met up with Mindy and Pete at the Brad.  S&S were looking for around 7.  Pete was biking.  Since he hadn't seen the Connector, we headed out that way.  It was a great day, with great company.  The mosquitoes were thick, but were OK unless you stopped.

Tuesday, I met up with Mindy for a lap around Back Cove.  I felt like more, but was the one to call it quits.  I had too much stuff to get done.  Wednesday night was the meeting of the IRS.  Unstrung told me all about her ultra experience at Pineland.  She wasn't even sore :)  We only saw one of our deer friends, but saw some of our enemies; ticks and leeches.

Tonight I visited Brad after work.  I really needed a run.  Brad made me feel better.  I enjoyed a slightly picked up pace, knowing I was only running 5 miles.
