Off, Bradbury, Off, Off....

I didn't get a run in on Saturday; it was a travel day. I stayed at my friend's till I was sure she was on the mend and able to do what she needed to do solo. When I got home, it was time to get supper going. That's okay; after all my not sleeping, I think a day off was probably a good thing.

Rick was on weekend duty so I was on my own for a run on Sunday. Big surprise - I headed to Bradbury to run the Scuffle course. The heat had started building in by then, but it wasn't stupid hot yet. Still, I was very happy to have brought fluids along. I ran it in 1:02:27. That was about a minute and a half slower than the last time, but I felt like it was a much bigger effort. The weather made a huge difference.

Yesterday and today I had off and not just due to the weather. Monday I brought Ryan down to RI and then headed back to NH to check in on my friend (who is doing much better). I spent the night there and got home about 4:30 this afternoon. Not interested in running then!

Tomorrow I'm heading back to Bradbury with Bethany and her friend, Tina. Neither of them know the course so I will be doing my run-and-come-back-type run. I'm hoping to get in eight miles.

  1. I am jealous as I haven't gotton to Bradbury in weeks. I actually tried to run last Thursday (even though the course was riddled with bike riders) but I got a call while I was changing and had to abort. I am hoping for this thursday as my last resort before racing Sunday....at this rate I expect a very slow race for me.

  2. This is a good week for some zero days! This heat is ridiculous! I hope it's a bit cooler on Sunday, but I'm not betting on it... And like Kevin, I'm jealous of how many times you've gotten to Bradbury recently! You are going to know that course forwards and back :-)

  3. Off, Bradbury, Off, Off, Bradbury?

Even if your head doesn't like OFF, you're body usually appreciates it.

  4. I am lucky to have gotten to Bradbury so often. Rick tells me I lead a charmed life :) After this summer I will be re-entering the work force...we'll see how I manage to fit it in then!
