Today was the only day that I ran this week that I didn't head to Bradbury. I spent a lot of time in the garden weeding. A lot. Saw two praying mantis before I was done! By the time I was ready to run, I didn't feel like it much. To make it a bit different, I decided to do a short run in my VFFs in the fields.
After the nearly four inches of rain that we've had in the last few days, the fields were wet. My little brook was probably quadrupled in volume - maybe more. What I learned is that I'd rather run totally barefoot than in the VFFs when it is wet. They are instantly wet and rather uncomfortable after that. Still, I enjoyed the free feeling.
WoW...praying mantis...I have not seen one in quite awhile....did it say one for you!! ; }
ReplyDeleteIt must have been pretty wet.... and I cannot imagine running in those things when its wet..I would be on the ground but.....you know me I can fall over invisable things!! : }
What a coincidence! My foot is wet too. Enjoy the wet VFF; your feet could be wet from not running and from having to soak in a bucket of ice water.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking today that the injured runner having to sit out as a sacrifice to the running gods so that others may run. I guess it's my turn and I thank whomever sat out injured so I could run 13 months straight.
Actually, I think most of us get injured because we didn't learn from the injuries of others or from our own previous instances of getting injured.
