OK, I know that the smart runners listen to their bodies. I find that bodies lie. Yesterday, I was certain I was done after four laps of the fatass. Both my body and mind said I was done. Then Jedi George put his Jedi powers to work and I found myself doing a fifth lap with the Jedi and Unstrung one. Turned out to be my favorite lap.
This morning, I wanted to do a loop of the fatass. When I started out, my left knee, all around and under the cap, was sore. My left butt cheek was really screaming. If I listened to my body, I would have stopped when the pain seem to intensify around 1 mile. There was no way I wasn't going to do the lap. I'm not even sure how far in, but sometime after 3 miles, nothing hurt any more. The going was still slow (weather conditions), but I felt good.
You run until it hurts, and then you run until it feels good again.
