It would be so easy to log lots of miles if I could run all of them with TM's. Instead of the measly 4 that my schedule had me running today, I had a fun almost 6.5 thanks to TM Dora. Gabbing with her, I hardly realized that we were covering any ground. It's so cool to have friends who understand what you're doing and are so supportive and positive. I would hold up Dora, Danielle, Emma, and Mindy as the best examples of cheer leaders that I've ever encountered. Are trail runners naturally supportive, positive people? Or does the activity transform people?
I think the spirit of the trail brings out the best in people or perhaps, the best people trail run
ReplyDeleteA running coach/researcher mentioned in Born to Run felt that ultra runners were good subjects because based on certain empirical evidence they were true clean subjects: I think in a sense true to themselves and others regardless of whether that type of people gravitate toward the activity or the activity molds them.
ReplyDeleteI think that the answer to your question is:
ReplyDeleteYes.
Thanks Valerie! :-) I think it is easy to be a happy person when you are out doing something you love! And when you know it is something you love, you want to support others doing it too :-) But I also think we are extra lucky as Trail Monsters to have found an awesome group of people!! Couldn't ask for more.
ReplyDeleteRah! Rah! Thanks Val - you are going to rock at Pineland. Looking forward to getting out on the trails with you again soon!!
ReplyDeleteYes, the answer is yes!
ReplyDeleteI'd heard through the grapevine that you were on the mend, Mindy!! Looking forward to running with you soon, too : ) (on the trails and maybe someplace we can get Danielle out with BOB).
I've been missing Bradbury. Looking forward to being done with Pineland and moving on to the mountain.
Danielle, I just included BOB in the run, cause I've missed Sam at all the Fat Asses and would love to see more of that sweet baby in the pics!
ReplyDeleteErin and Christine were out at Bradbury this past weekend and had some fun. I'm looking forward to running out there again as well.
